Fourtrak F78 warning light

Forum:

Hi guys and gals,

Newbie here. I've just got an N reg Fourtrak - she's in good nick and goes well, but I get a warning light sometimes when I go to start it.

I haven't got a Drivers' manual with it.

It is the far right warning light at the bottom of the dash. Looks like a resevoir with an inlet and outlet, with what I can only describe as a 'drip' coming out of it.

Any ideas? And what do I need to do about it?

Many thanks guys,

Dan

this is the warning light for

this is the warning light for need to purge water out of the fuel filter thing, located at the offside bulkhead corner. Someone will no doubt be along to give instructions, if they dont I'll them out from my drivers manual.

The Fuel Filter is located on

The Fuel Filter is located on the O/S under the bonnet, between the battery and bulkhead. There is a plastic plug that screws into the bottom of the filter and on this there is a little wing-nut type affair. Unscrew this and the water should flow out of the bottom of the filter and down a plastic pipe to the ground. You may have to use the hand priming pump to expel all of the water. tighten the wing-nut up again and job done.

Hi and welcome

Hi.

Suggest as other posts, drain fuel filter of water, better still change the filter as you do not know when it was last changed, they are as cheap as chips for the job they do. You though will have to bleed the fuel system afterwards.
