Hi

Had my 2004 Charade SL for nearly 5 years. Great car overall, but an annoying problem has blighted it for the past 2 years and nobody seems to be able to fix it, so I was wondering if anyone had come across it before or had any suggestions.

Basically at particular revs you get a whistling sound from the exhaust. It's clearly caused by a vibration from the pipe somewhere (it's not a loose belt). The exhaust itself is in v good condition and there are no leaks. Any suggestions on how it could be resolved? I'm assuming it needs tightening somewhere but there doesn't seem to be anything that can be tightened.

I'd love to get this fixed as it is the only thing spoiling an otherwise dependable and fun car. I've had a couple of mechanics look at it but to no avail. Daihatsu tried sprayting some WD40 near the down pipe but it didn't help.

Any suggestions appreciated (or if anyone lives near Birmingham and would like to take a look!).
