You can lift the body, lift
You can lift the body, lift the chassis using larger shackles on the springs or do a leaf over axle conversion. Have a look on www.bloodredoffroad.com.
Got in there before you dogboss(I'll pm you the advertising invoice )
will that not just make it
will that not just make it top heavy? and fall over? people keep telling me it will tip over easier...
Spring over axle is the
Spring over axle is the only(?) way to increase the clearance of the diffs ect. You could also fit bigger tyres/wheels, but they would have to be something special to give you any real difference.
thanks for that..... i need
thanks for that..... i need new front leafs so i suppose that would help a little.... might try the 2 inch shackles, see what that dose,......
SoA Lift
Hi Stalin.
Think you got mixed up their !!!!
SoA will not increase the height between the ground and the diff cases. Think about it . The only way to increase the clearance is to fit larger tyres. SoA lifts every thing above the axles.

i have 235.75.15 on it , just brought some insa turbo sahrahs.....maybe get some 16 inch wheels at some point????
Yep, I got confused, not easy
Yep, I got confused, not easy to achieve
Er no
A spring over axle wont increase diff clearance, taller tyres will
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

the only way to gain more
the only way to gain more diff clearance is taller tyres, for every 1" taller you will gain 1/2" under the diffs, there are different ways of fitting taller tyres with pros and cons for all of them.
you can do
body lift
pros leaves the heavy parts lower down and is cheap
cons can be hard to do and does not help with aproch/departure or breakover angle
spring lift
pros improves aproch/departure and breakover angle and can give more flex
cons cost
shackle lift
pros cheap improves aproch/breakover angle
cons they can bend springs reduce departure angle and upset your steering
spring over axle
pros gives a lot more flex and improves aproch/departure and breakover angle
cons cost lifts your truck too high so will be easier to fall over
virtual lift
pros keeps the waight low
cons will need to cut and weld your arches does nothing to improve aproch/departure and breakover angle
for any one who does not know what a virtual lift is it is when you cut you arches back far enough to fit bigger tyres without doing a suspension/body lift
there maybe more pros/cons for all of above but hope this helps parrot
