Nev I mean the nuts on the shackles.....at the back of the vehicle, where the leaf spring connects to the body.
When you're looking at the leaf springs from the back of the vehicle should the nuts face each other(leaf spring to leaf spring) or point to the outside of the vehicle?

Sorry. Being a compleat dope. I was thinking of the shacles which go over the axle to hold it to the springes. Doh. Nuts towards the outside of the car would be normal.
