New 4Trak to play with. Anyone have any ideas

Hi all,
Just bought a '91 F70 TDS and want to do a few mods, slightly bigger wheels & tires, raise suspension etc. Anybody know how to go about this, where to buy the stuff, how complicated the work is (Basic knowledge & Tools but enthusiastic) etc.

Toyota Axles

Am I right in thinking that people use Toyota axles on Fourtraks to give the option of diff lock? How much work is required to convert them?

Hi Rob
I don't think this is a common conversion in the UK, the axles cost the same as the Fourtrak I'm fitting them to and also took a long time to find(2 years)
I'm not sure whats involved yet as I haven't finished but I'll post the full conversion details and results when it is done

hi,
i bought a fourtrak for of roading a year or so ago and have had nothing but fun doing her up,heres a few things that i have done-

raised the body 50mm -easy done with RHS steel section and 10mm studding

replaced the springs- call milner they have most parts

replaced the shocks with pro comps se bloodred off road

put on spring lifts again see bloodred off road

extended the breathers,both axels and geraboxes have breathers already just extend them up into the the bulkhead(mine go into the roll cage)

put on a 12000 winch from superwinch

put on battery isolation switches these are readily available on ebay

one of the most things has made a big difference is putting on a set of insa special trak tyres, she goes just about anythere now.

if you only go off road- think about welding up the rear diff wow what a diff that makes perminant reardrive.

i got off roading with a Suzuki,land rover and she now holds her own only getting stuck in the most serveve of conditions

i have posted a few things on the forum and i have to say have have had nothing but good sound help
