RUST, Rust and even more Rust!

Check the chassis and the rear arches, although easy to fix.

Engines are strong but oil changes are needed at quite low intervals.

Gearbox should be reasonably quite and check it goes into 3rd and reverse. Check the 4wd system works ok.

4traks are pretty basic by modern standards but check all electrics work.

For the sort of money you want to spend you should get a good late 80s model, i paid £1100 for my 2.8d 4trak on a f plate with full service history. Dont let anyone tell you they are not very good off road, they are. On road they keep up with modern traffic and are reasonable on economy.

PS. they seats are awfull on all of them.
