15.3" tyres on 15" rims

Forum:

Anybody put 15.3" tyres on 15" rims? Anything go wrong? Do you need to use an inner-tube? Does it deflate very easily if there is no inner tude? Does the tyre slip easily on the rim in heavy traction conditions?

I do not need speed from my 4x4 as it will be just trundling along our farm lane and across fields. I need traction more than anything.

I would imagine you would be

I would imagine you would be open to pulling the tyre off the rim on side slopes or during corrnering. Also you would have to use a tube, as the air seal would not be good. I would not suggest this for on road use at all, if only for insurance rasons.
For of road only you could negate the problem of the wheel spinning inside the tyre by drilling the rim, and driving self tapping screwes into the tyre (not long enough to go right through to the tube obviously).

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
