Sporti running rough at 1700 rpm

Forum:

Hi All

Am hoping that you can throw some suggestions my way before I again have to take the Sporti to the garage. I have recently fitted another engine to the car after my last two both cracked across the block (has this happened to any one else as they both went in identical places). Any way the new motor is running very sweet an drives very well. However when the engine is at running temp it starts to run rough when you hit about 1500 -2000 rpm and then clears. As you can imagine this is a little frustrating as you have to keep the revs up to avoid it and this is obviously very bad for fuel consumption and not great for the engine. As yet I have not had the timing done but I don't think this is the issue due to the specific rev band that it happens in. After spending a lot of money on what was supposed to be a cheap run about I am now planning on keeping the little jeep so any comments would be appreciated.

Best regards

Sounds like the advance in the distributor is sticking.
