L reg sportrak rear leaf springs

Forum:

hey guys, so im planning on upgrading next month so have been searching and reading on this site to make my decision. but low and be-hold one went and snapped on me last night! so now have to make that decision faster... it basically boils down to milners or bloodred? obviously milners are cheaper and sell a whole kit... and lets face it, im gona have to grind most the bolts off anyway, but iv heard their a hard ride. bloodred on the other hand have a sportrak so i feel they know what their on about despite the cost difference. but i would just like a quick thread on peoples opinions... i like going off road with my mates who mostly drive landys and as impressed as they are with the little thing they tell me the back end jumps all over the place....

thank you in advance guys

scott

but

they give more lift than straight / snapped ones right? lol

my ones were only single leaf, so surely 3 leaved ones will give a degree of lift?

is yours a facelift

is yours a facelift truck?
They went to single leaf on face lift to try to soften the on-road ride over the earlier mult-leaf setups. I am sure that compromised their off-road ability.
They will I am sure give more lift than the single leaf - especially a broken one! Smile

cheers

Rob

yea its a face lift truck

and i use it to commute to work 5 days a week so a fair bit of moterway driving... have opted to go with milners as only really do light greenlaning at the moment. thanks for your comments guys.

Milners tend to be uprated by

Milners tend to be uprated by around 20%, so no good for off roading, but great if you carry a lot of weight or tow.

Softer springs are more compliant and better off road, but tend to lean more in corners and slightly increase stopping distances.

For road work and towing - hard springs (Milners) for off road work - softer springs.
