Fourtrak wheel carrier.

Forum:

Hi new to the forum, and have a 1996 Daihatsu Fourtrak, have fitted the alloy wheels in place of the steel ones, however the new alloy will not fit the wheel carrier on the back.

Unknw is there two types of carrier, one for the alloy wheel and one for the steel wheel.

I also need a need a new panel that runs under the head lights, do you know a good place to get this from.
Thanks for any help you can give, Gibbmodoll.

Swap the carrier for one

Swap the carrier for one designed for alloy wheels, they are deeper to allow for the additional wheel width.

If you have the fabrication equipment you could modify the existing carrier, replace the studs for longer ones and put packing pieces over the studs.

or

just bend the. little lip with a large adjustable spanner and it will fit, it bends easier than you might think....

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

I just took the lip off my Sportrak with an angle grinder. Same effect. Workes fine with Fourtrak Alloys fitted.
