Urgent help needed

Forum:

Please please can anyone help, I have a Independant 2.8 TDX, my front right hand indicator has decided to just stop working. The bulb is ok, have tried putting new one in but still wont work. Any suggestions. All other lights that side work. Thinking about selling her, so really need it working quick. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Help

Relay

The indicator relay has failed. Cheap replacement from Halfords or a motor shop. Replace with a heavy duty type is you use the vehicle for towing trailer/caravan etc. The relay is usually found behind the steering column. If you cant locate it, then switch on the left hand indicators and put your ear under the steering column. Listen for the relay clicking the signal/flasher .... click click etc. Relay is simply to remove - usually they pull out and refit as a push-in.

Indicator Wire/Socket

I've had the exact same problem on mine not too long ago.
Couldn't figure out the problem until I found that the indicator's wire (wire going right into the socket of the bulb, with the little contact pin sitting in the socket had burned out). Just had to replace it (find same wire, with same pin size and type. Cut off damaged one, and hardwire new one).
At least it points you to where to look for the problem.
Over

Definitely not relay. Will

Definitely not relay. Will have to keep looking. Any more ideas would be gratefully received.

ground

my problem was a faulty ground at the bulbs ground/earth terminal
have you tested for 12v at the terminal to ground with a multi meter.
this will tell you if power is there.
