The later Shogun is a far

The later Shogun is a far superior vehicle to the Fourtrak in many ways, and the reason i have one. Its main benefit is the 3.2DiD engine which, like the Fourtrak is a thumper, it is allegedly down on power but it is designed and matched to the auto transmission. This transforms it as a family vehicle, unlike the early 2.5 which was underpowered, the later 2.8 which was better but prone to blowing head gaskets.
As a family vehicle it is much more usable than the Fourtrak, better at towing with the benefit of permanent 2 or 4 wheel drive, and 5 door.

Its major problems off road are its wheelbase and its big backside.

Generally it is a matter of sorting out your particular requirements for a vehicle and its intended use.

Land Rover: what can you say; a friend of mine had a Rangie last year, brand new; it was in 13 times in one year for various problems. An alleged luxury vehicle should not be so unreliable and the reason he could not wait to get rid of it.

There is an old saying, if you own a fairly new LR you become on first name terms with the dealers service department and they all send you a card at christmas.
