daihatsu fourtrak 2.8 tdl independent 1993. automatic locking front hubs when 4 wheel drive is selected front prop shafts and drive shafts drive - loses drive at wheel (hubs not locking???). Hubs have been removed in past to fit front bearings. could it be hub set up? any help would be appreciated

if the hubs have been removed charnces are they have not been put back in the right place , there is a small pin like pice inside that locates in a slot if this is not in then they dont work took me 3 atempts to get them right you can test them by hand just jack that side up and turn the whell it will lock and turn the shaft if they are in the right place if they dont then they will just keep going round the pin thing is inside the hub ther is a coil spring type thing with two bent ends i think they locate into a slot long time since i did it sorry hope that helps you just have to look at it and work out wat turns the insides round
