hijet sump is porous

Forum:

Hi my older hijet failed it's mot due to porous oil sump. is there any fix for this like a spray or something. they also said the the brake piles are pitted, when i took it to a garage they said i would have to take the petrol tank off to fix the brake pipes. seems a bit extreme to me. any thoughts from some people that will know the truth. thanks and kind regards John

the mot will only fail a

the mot will only fail a leaking sump if its interfering with brakes/suspension components, what does the vt30 say? the brake pipes can be re-routed as long as its done properly, ie safe route, clipped up properly and not able to foul/rub on any part, if they are over fuel tank ect and the mechanic cant get at them then thats why the tank has to come off, hope that helps, kirk.
