Terios creak/rattle

Forum:

Hi,

I am new to Terios and Daihatsu. I have been lurking in the forum for a bit getting a feel for the vehicles and the owners and it seems everyone loves Daihatsu 4x4s and I am starting to see why. I finally decided to buy a Terios after admiring them for a while! I love driving it and find it a fantastic vehicle. It is a 2003 model with 57k and two lady owners in brilliant condition with full history. All I have done is give it a full buff and polish, serviced it and changed to decent AT all season tyres which made an amazing difference.

I have one small concern. I have a persistent rattle or creak that I cannot locate. The rattke sounds like a loose heat shield or plate or similar. I have been over every plate and shield I can find and have fount nothing loose. The creak appears when turning at slow speed, moving over speed bumps or reversing around corners. It reminds me of a sound when a rubber bush or seal is hardened or not fitted.

Neither of the issues have any effect on the vehicle. It drives perfectly and steering track etc. remains consistent. There is no break deviation under heavy breaking and the car steers perfectly in a straight line. There is no wobble, vibration or anything similar.

Never having owned a Terios this may be normal or consequential of some design factors. It just concerns me and the dealer has offered me a 6 month warranty on all issues of which there is 3 months or so left to run. If something needed fixed I am keen to look at it sooner rather than later.

Is this something anyone else has seen? Can anyone offer any pointers or suggestions or reassurance of wether I should be concerned or learn to ignore it?

Thanks in advance for any help and opinion - it is much appreciated!
