does anybody know why I have steam coming out from under the bonnet of my 1994 2.8tdx fourtrak it only comes out now and again and usually whilst i am stopped at traffic lights the temp guage is normal and i am not losing any fluids but using a bit of water
help!
you are loosing fluid
your loosing water, just look under the bonnet for leaks, best bet water pump area.
Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Yeah you are loosing fluid
Yeah you are loosing fluid somewhere, I have a little damage to the core on top of my rad and it drips the smallest amount of water onto the rad and causes a bit of steam. Just keep an eye on the size of the leak and carry a few litres of water in case it gets worse.
Radiator Cap
Try fitting a new radiator cap.
NB - or tighten the lugs within the cap. The cap could be weak and when at stand still, the leakage of steam gets noticed. When driving the steam is lost to the air circulation.
