Larger wheels

Forum:

Hi
I would like to add slightly larger wheels and tyres to my sportrak.

I am an archaeologist and spend a lot of time tracking over muddy fields ect and would like to know if anyone could kindly suggest a wheel or tyre size/type that would be suitable for off road and on road

Also would this mean any modification to the sporty itself other than swopping wheels.

Thanks guys and gals

you can go to 31 - 10.50 / 15

you can go to 31 - 10.50 / 15 on standard wheel rims whicj will increase height of the truck over standard (depending on what you have) by about 1.5 inches.

cheers

Wheels and tyres

I went for 235/75R15 MTs with no problem, need to change the rims (Look out for Suzuki rims on eBay. Amazon MTs have great grip and are also good value for money. Have a look at the Kingpin Technic Amazon MTs at 4x4tyres.com

I run 215/75-15's on Fourtrak

I run 215/75-15's on Fourtrak standard Aloys on mine. BF Goodrich AT's on the front, and BF Goodrich MT's on the back. I find this a good compramise for most on road and mid level offroad work. The only thing that tends to be a problem is rutted tracks. For those you need to gain hight under you diffs. Thats when you can go as stupid as you like with lifting, and putting huge wheels on. Of course as the hight and center of gravity increases, and the gearing gets higher you lose road performance and some off road agility.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.
