1996 Fourtrak Fog Light

Forum:

The problem is the rear foglight in the bumper does not work. I have tested the switch which is fine and there is volatge to the switch when the lights are on and the switch lights up when switched. I checked the lamp which is fine but not getting voltage to the lamp. I disconnected it from the loom and am getting no voltage there either. I have checked the fuses but couldn't find any blown and now I am stuck. I do not have a service manual or wiring diagram so don't know if there is a relay I am missing and there also seems to be some wiring behind the rear bumper not connected and I do not know what it is for.

id just run another wire from

id just run another wire from the switch to the lamp.... otherwise you could spend hours trying to trace the wires looking for a break or bad connection

Fourtrak fog light

Hi. Your problem could well be the trailer socket (assuming your car has a tow bar). When the trailer plug is pushed into the socket on the car, the rear fog light on the car is disconnected, (to prevent reflected glare off the trailer). When unplugged, the circuit is remade. Sometimes it sticks open. I suggest you remove the electrical socket from the car and open it up. It is obvious how it works. Hope this helps. Del.
