Forum:
Im going to replace the sump gasket as part of my sorting out.
Ive got a brand spanking new cork one from Milners. Does it require any additional sealant when putting back together Hermatite?
Further, is there a particular sequence for putting the blots back in and also a specified torque when tightening?
thanks as always
dave
bolts
allways start with the middle bolt and work out to each end (see any haynes manual for diagram its the same as doing the head gasket? this allows gasket to settle and not damage it. i dont no the torque settings but when you do start low and slowly work up to the required torque.
adam.
no sealent is needed just make sure old one is completly removed from both surfaces
Use sealant on it, do not use
Use sealant on it, do not use silicone, Blue Hermatite is the best stuff for them.
Ensure all the surfaces are spotless before installing.
