2000reg hijet 1.3 efi engine management light

My engine management light keeps comming on Some times I can drive for 5miles before it comes on Van runs perfect changed oil& filter air filter new plugs cannot find socket to check ECU to switch light off If no socket then how can I check codes. Can you turn light off permenantley.Please help neil

I have what seems a similar problem with the same age van. I noticed that it would come on after I braked hard shortly after I had set off. problem. I have now replaced the air filter but have noticed that the problem does no occur when the weather is damp and the air is denser. I am now looking at the Lamda sensor.

The performance of the van remains good regardless of whether the light is on or off so the EMU is not putting it into any safety limiting mode..

Any suggestions would be appreciated
