Sportrak 1994 Front wheels sieze in 4wd when steering is turned fully left or right

Forum:

I have recently read in the that PCFELLA had the same problem with the front wheels and wondered if anyone knows the cure.I thought I had a worn cv joint.I tried with an observer to turn on full locked steering left, the front left wheel would not turn. The same on the right lock. the sportrak drives fine in 4wd as far as I can tell.Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank Peter77.

soooo when your in 4wd

soooo when your in 4wd driving along you turn sharp left full lock, the wheel stops spinning and probably bounces i would imagine as all the other wheels are going ?? correct?

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!

Reply about front wheel sieze.

The problem only happens in first gear when doing a u turn or parking.
I think the full lock stop has been adjusted to disguise the problem.
This makes the turning circle bigger.I have driven at high speed in 4wd just to test it.It is when in full lock and slow,to get it to move you have to straighten the wheel a bit.I think it is only the front outside wheel that locks at any turn.

Same thing here...

I have the same problem, it's like the breaks come on in full lock with the front hubs locked on in four wheel drive Hi & Lo...

Any ideas would be good...
