Starting to really p*** me off now!
Got all four wheels up off the ground today so that I could run it in gear and get under to listen -- still trying to pin down the grinding sound.
She (yes, it's a SHE now) has had new pads and discs and previously a new NSF wheel bearing. This sounds a little like a bearing but not....
When I turn left it gets worse,straight on, there all the time, turn right, it decreases minutely. It IS getting worse.
Nothing is rubbing. Brake guards are clear. While under today I checked the transfer box oil and it took 1/2 Litre! There are no signs of any leaks though?
Just took it to Tesco to do some shopping and on way back now the ENGINE MGT LIGHT IS ON, speedo stopped working and handbrake light won't go off...... but it drives fine and rear brakes NOT binding.
Can't take to staeler as they won't cover warranty as it has been offroaded.(2 dealers and Daihatsu).
Any ideas? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaase
Okay, went to see a mechanic
Okay, went to see a mechanic chap today, and we came to the conclusion that the bearing replaced in February is faulty and about to collapse. So, wrote a snotty email to supplier (won't name for now). Hopefully will get a replacement out of them but car is now off the road!
No idea why speedo/odometer have stopped working, or why handbrake awrning light stay on. Engine management light has gone off now....weird.
Fed up now.
