Name of part info

Forum:

I was hoping someone could give me info on the name of a bush, bushes for my Fourtrak, F78.

Not sure what it is called so I can replace them,

The part the bush goes on to is on a bar that seems to go from the steering arm to the front of the chassis,

The bar isnt straight as it has a bend on it,

Looks like some sort of drop link type bar, stabilising bar sort of thing.

Gives massive amount of play on the wheel when you shake it from side to side,

Dont know if I have given enough info for some one to know what it is, but hopefully I have.

Any info would be very gratefull,

Cheers

Dont think it is an ani roll

Dont think it is an ani roll bar as the bar it Im talking about is only about 3 or 4 inches long.

Its on near side, looking down from engine bay, you can see it,

It goes down to where what looks like a part of the steering, and connects onto a mount at side of the chassis.

Did the rear anti roll bar bushes the other day,

Looking down ito the engine bay area,

The bar goes onto the mount on the chassis,

looks like the top of the bar goes to the mount, the bar then goes down towards the steering with a slight bend on it and connects onto a part of the steering, took a photo of it but dont know how to put the photo on here to make it easier to see,

Beemers do it sideways

Cheers. That looks like the

Cheers.

That looks like the bit Im needing,

You were saying there is a bad batch going around, is their any way of telling when you buy the part Unknw

Will probarly get it from Milner, dealt with them before as I find their service first class,

One of my mates told me one of the breakers around my area has a fourtrak so Im going tomorrow to see what he has,

Do these parts last well or are they common for going Unknw

Do a bit of offroading in the fourtrak so I dont want to have to keep replacing it with a new one all the time if they are prone to failing,

I think the ball joint side of it is ok, so I was wondering if you can just buy the bush for it,

Once again thanks for the info on the part.

Beemers do it sideways

What is it you mean by saying

What is it you mean by saying the bolt wont fit through them Unknw

Do you mean the bolt wont fit through the bush Unknw

Could you not just put a thinner bolt through the bush Unknw

Beemers do it sideways

the bolt wont fit though the

the bolt wont fit though the metal insert in the steering idler, you could mill the bolt down but thats a bodge and if you get a good one next time the bolt will be loose.

you may get lucky and get a good one, order one and you will see what i mean if it is a bad one they are not that hard to replace.

the bolt that goes though them are 22mm iirc but at the end with the thread on it steps down but cant remember that size.

another thing to watch is the bolt can size into them and spin in the bracket and then it wears the bracket hole into a ovel shape

i had 2 from milners that

i had 2 from milners that were bad then got one from blueprint and that was the same.

they tend to go every year.

dave at bloodredoffroad sales poly bush's for them but you will find that the metal insert will be worn.
if you can find a good one get it then fit daves bush's then it should last abit longer and not wear the metal insert so much as the poly bush's are not so hard as the ones that come in them as standard
