from a newbie, does anybody know whether or not 205/75/17 tyres will go onto the silver aluminium wheels (rims etc.) of a sprtrak? this sizeis the one stamped on the door pillar. everyone talks of the 225/70/15" tyres....plase help a confused dude.

The size tyres you mention are 17 inch diameter, but sportrak wheels are only 15 inches so no, they wouldnt fit. You could get bigger 17 inch wheels, but id have thought that that size would catch on the bodywork somewhere unless you had a pretty big suspension lift, plus it would seriously effect the final gearing of the car, i'd have thought.
I looked into getting different sized tyres for my sportrak, but there were various pros and cons and i ended up sticking to the standard size!!

thanks for your reply. guess what, i am a plonker, i meant to write down "205 75 15"...duh!!! so, sam question as before, but with 15 inh rims. however, i've had some more thoughts on this, after looking at the two sizes of tyres, i reckon that it should work. any thoughts???

205/75R15 tyres will fit on the rims, yeah. I think the standard size is 195 R15, which is what ive got, but people use 205 up to 225 or even 235, altho some say 235's rub but others dont.
But yeah, the 205's you mention would be fine.
