My Sportrak has developed a fast idle at about 1800 rpm when hot. This sometimes hunts slightly. I saw a post that suggests that this is poor water circulating to the fast idle device that is part of the throttle housing. I have identified that this is the component at fault by a finger over the hole in the airway. This returns the idle speed to normal 800rpm.

The throttle housing has been taken off and the waterways are clear. This seems to indicate that the valve device is sticking or the thermostatic device has failed. After trying to free this the part was replaced on the vehicle and the problem persists. Any ideas as to how to refurbish this device. Alternatively does anyone have this part available or can suggest a source. I have tried Parts Gateway without success.
