Matt Black bumper section (YRV)

Forum:

Decided to paint the whole of the centre section of the bumper in matt black as I thought that the body coloured rings around the fogs and the bumper bars were a little too fussy. I left the three vertical bars in silver to match the three vertical bars in the bonnet vent and painted the single horizontal bar in matt black to match the black grill. I think it all ties in much better now.

Off the car?

Really good look to complement the silver... well done!
Did you have to remove the bumper (and fogs etc) to get this done so well?

Wonder how it would look on a yellow YRV.
Been "not liking" the fussy stickers that have been chipping off in pieces for a while.

Fantastic

I just paid a 'Revive' guy to fix some scratches on my front bumper. Grrrr, if only I'd seen this mod first I could have got him to do it whilst he was on the job! It looks simply fantastic on the silver YRV.

DIY

Cheers all.

Yeah, did it myself, the black grill too. I had to remove the grill, front bumper, then the fogs and the plastic mesh section. I will warn you, the 2 piece plastic mesh is held on at the back with like little grip washers. I had to bend and break em to get em off without damaging the rubber fixing posts.

I think this is gonna be the last mod for a while as we are buying a new house Sad Still, will have space for a large workshop garage then Smile
