Damp elictrics maybe ??

Forum:

Hello there.
Just wondering if anyone`s 2.8 td fourtraks done this.
This only happens 1st thing in the morning on 1st start up.After that its fine.
So here goes, I get in,,key in the ignition, turn, wait for glowplug light to go out, fire up.
So far so good.
Allways let it warm up a few mins before setting of.Just as I set of,,the battery light,,,light what comes on when hanbrake is applied,,,and the light on the far right for the diesel fluid drain, all flashes on an of with the clicking sound you get when You 1st turn the key.Bye the time I get of the end of My road it stops.
Could this be a bit of damp somewhere in the wiring. If so,where?
I went bizzurk with the wd40 1st time but the next morning it still did it.............................cheers.......Martin.

Never use WD40 on electrics

Never use WD40 on electrics or electronics as this corrodes copper over time, often creating more problems, always use a contact cleaner.

at a guess

wont be damp I doubt as you can swamp 12 volt electrics, my idea is either something earthing out/something touching, what i'd suggest is a good blowing out under the dash n bonnet with an air compressor as corrosive dust/ muck can cause ageing electrical connections to short n fail, and this sounds just like that, also just check your battery earth and its power output.

Full of ideas but no time to do them!!
