Has anyone come across a set of clear side repeaters that fits the YRV? I'm going to assume that there's commonality between the OEM ones and other Daihatsu's (perhaps even ones on Toyota's), but having searched on here, online and perused ebay etc, I can't find any suggestions or potentials.
I managed to get a clear set for my Sirion Rally IV about 6-years ago, but the supplier (German) doesn't seem to exist anymore so I can't even ask them...
If not, I'll just have to measure up and get a universal set.
Its a tricky one
I have clear side indicators on my YRV. The only issue I have found is that you cannot find for love nor money any specifically for the YRV.
The ones I have on now are Universal type ones. And use virtually the same fittings, bu you may have to mod them slightly. Also the ones I have are a slightly smaller look to the originals. Your best bet is to take of one of the side lights to get an idea to what I mean.

That's what I figured I'd have to do... I'm going to keep looking at other Daihatsu's and Toyota's though, I can't believe that they designed a whole new indicator unit specifically for the YRV, and still suspect that they grabbed one from 'the shelf' (for example, the rear bumper reflectors are branded Toyota). If I can find a matching set on something more mainstream that tuners will do stuff for, I might get lucky.
Otherwise it's as you say, remove it and go hunting in the tuning shops for universal ones...
A few bits are marked Toyota
Yep there are a some parts that are marked Toyota on the YRV.
The Door Mirrors are marked up as Toyota (Marked on the undersides), and indeed they look to be the same as the mark 1 Toyota Yaris.
But as I have found out the the door mirrors are the only thing that are the same, the base plates also look the same and you would have thought a direct replacement? Nope, the base plate screws on a Toyota Yaris door mirrors do not match the Daihatsu YRV door
As for the side indicators, been down this road, hvae considered the side repeaters from the Daihatsu Copen, but if you look they should fit, but the shape of the actual indicators is slightly different, and you have to consider how they fit in the outer oblong shape where ours fit.

Did you manage to find a universal one that fits in the recess of the bodywork then? I think I'm going to be limited with choice over here, so may be looking at ebay in the UK once again...
As for the commonality of Toyota & Daihatsu parts, typical... I thought I might be able to find something, but if you've already looked, then, quite simply, bah!
