Taft F60 2.8 Diesel (Turbo swap)

Forum:

Hey guys I done a search and found out some answers but I need some advices. I have a 1983 Taft F60 2.8 Diesel and I want to swap in a turbo unit off a 2.8 D Rocky. I have the turbo unit, with exhaust manifold. I appears that it will be a direct bolt on. I have to relocate the oil filter, replace the exhaust system and run oil lines for the turbo. To install a intercooler I have to add a scope to the hood - not happy to do so, I like the look now. I was told that the engine pressure may not be right on a F60 2.8 Diesel and that the head gasket will have to be replaced. Does any one know the cylinder pressure for a F60 2.8 D compared to a 1984 Rock 2.8 D turbo. Do I have my head on straight with this turbo sway or am I head down a road to disaster. Thansk
