98 cuore gearbox oil change

Forum:

Hi, Ive been doing some general maintenance on our 0.8L 1998 cuore recently and thought I might change the gearbox oil as its done nearly 80k miles and never had it done.

Thing is I dont seem to be able to find anywhere to say where the drain and fill plugs are for the cuore, does anyone here know?

Thanks.

If your looking at the

If your looking at the gearbox from under the car and facing towards the front the drain and fill plugs are both on the left vertical side of the gearbox. I think the drain plug is slightly smaller than the fill. Once drained put the drain plug back in and fill until it starts to overflow, wait for it to settle, then put the plug back in Smile
Did this on my rally 4 and what a pain it is to fill up!! I used an oil syringe to fill it back up because access to the plug sucks!
Good luck

A way to get oil into the gearbox

I've always used a bit of garden hose, with a small funnel stuck in one end to refill my gearboxes. Has to be small enough to get into the fill-hole, of course.

Most vital thing - when doing this job, is to make certain you can both find and undo the filler plug before you undo the drain!!!!
