Camshaft Timing Sprocket - where can I get one?

Forum:

After several months of being in the dark as to what was causing my Sportrak to lose power it has now been discovered that the camshaft timing sprocket is slipping. The garage which has it has been able to improve the running by adjusting the timing, but they can't locate a spare from the dealer. Any idea where to go for one?

Thanks in advance

It's a Daihatsu only part, So

It's a Daihatsu only part, So if you cant get it from a dealer then only option is second hand.

I can't believe Daihatsu can't get you one. Speak to Daihatsu yourself..don't trust your garage to do what they say they are.

Thank you for your help. We

Thank you for your help. We contacted the dealer and were told the part is no longer available. However it has now been made by a machine shop.

If it is a 1.6 petrol

If it is a 1.6 petrol sportrak then its the same pulley that is on the 1.3 hijet and the charade.

I have a couple if you need any.

It should never slip as it sits on a woodruff key.

If you continue to have problems get in contact.

Having a pulley like that made will be mighty expensive!
