Go through it with a fine

Go through it with a fine toothcomb and begin servicing it as they are often abused.

Flush and clean the cooling system and put new anti-freeze in.

Grease and inspect all the propshafts and steering joints and examine for play and wear.

Change all the oils, gearbox, transfer case, axles.

Rustproof it.

Enjoy it.

Cheers for the advice

Cheers for the advice assassin yeah I've made a start on it, bit of rust round the rear wheel arch going to weld it. Flushed the coolant it was minging, as was the diff oil.

rusty probs

Hi, my coolant was the same whih blocked the rad slightly, you could only notice it when towing as it would overheat, new radiator sorted that. Rust is a big problem espcially on the chassis member in front/above rear axle, mine tore off when towing (too much for the rust i guess) i converted it to air suspension with stronger arms and reinforced the chassis. The inner sills also corrode but other than that they are bulletproof (not literally, don't shoot it!) hope you enjoy it.
