Firm sirion suspension?

Forum:

I am a new owner of a 2006 sirion 1.3 SE with 10000 miles on the clock and I have noticed a firm /stiff ride which collects every bump in the road? Is this the model or can it be improved? I have reduced the tyre pressures to their specified 31 all round but this doesn't seem to improve the situation. Any ideas please.

Problems

I own a 2011 sirion 1.0ltr. It is still under warranty and registering 6000miles on the clock. I am having the same problem with my very firm suspension. I reduced the tyre pressures to 27psi but again no improvement whatsoever. Same as 'bluelagoon4' above, any ideas will also be welcome here. Thanks.

Sirion suspension

Thank you Frankcammil for your reply..
It is evident that there is nothing wrong with our vehicles nor the model in general. It may be the case that we are used to a previous car with better suspension ( certainly in my case - a large Merc) together with badly repaired roads where we drive?
I notice that some other superminis have larger wheels and tyres which may cushion better the potholes?
I don't know whether there are modifications that can be made but perhaps your request for further information within the club may bring further information and ideas.

Firm Sirion suspension

As I mentioned in my early comment, my suspension on the sirion is very hard. Admittedly I drive the car on very bad roads but the way this car reacts on our roads is not normal. I have had a few other cars before and never experienced the heavy thudding on the slightest undulation on the road. I have been advised to replace the shocks with KYB which are manufactured in Japan. My car is only three years old with very very low mileage, but if this operation solves the problem I'll be quite happy. I have only just ordered the new shocks, and when I get them fitted in the car, I will report back on the outcome.

As Above

Referring to my post dated 10/11/14 (as shown above), I have since fitted two brand new KYB shock absorbers on the rear suspension of my car. I am now reporting that unfortunately there has been very little change, if any, on the hardness of the suspension. Incidentally, the factory shocks which I removed from the car are also KYB shocks (made in Japan). So replacing the shock absorbers did not solve the problem. Any better ideas please.
