Daihatsu Fourtrak 2.8 TDL SE Radio Memory

Forum:

I have just bought a 1998 TDL SE with an old Philips stereo radio cassette player, with the name Volkswagen on the front face. The radio works perfectly and has several preset stations, but unfortunately the radio will not retain its tuning settings. I cannot see any information on the manual published on this site, regarding the wiring for constant radio memory. Does anybody know if the standard harness includes a permanent power cable for the radio, and if so where it is fused, and how the cable/terminal can be identified?

Yes it does, unfortunately

Yes it does, unfortunately when the wiring bodgers set too behind the dash it can do untold damage to the wiring; best to start again using the correct connectors and wiring it properly.

Constant power supply to radio memory.

Thank you for your advice, that is promising. I see there is a +ve power terminal tabled which is described as 'radio backup', and have been advised that refers to radio memory, so I plan to check that out next, and hope to find a blown fuse. Watch this space.
