Hi I'm New

Forum:

HI
I'm new to the forum but I've been reading posts since I bought my. Daihatsu Sirion 4trak last year may. I was planning to make it low and fast, but because I'm 21 and the must have insurance I'm gonna make it low and slow.

I am the second owner of the car. It belonged to an old lady and then I bought it.

I am planning to do some work on it this summer. As it missed a service last year.

My plans:
1. Change all fluids including diff and transfer box fluids
2. Change spark plugs
3. Change air filter
4. Totally replace the rear brakes
5. Refurbish or install new callipers
6. Install new brake lines
7. Clean the underside especially the arches
8. Lower it on a air bag kit.
9. Roll the wheel arches so the banded steelies can fit.
10. Install banded steelies with stretched tyres
11. Swap out any worn bushes or suspension links.
12. Install sub woofer and amp.
13. Fix the two doors that wont open with central locking.
14. Sticker bomb the dash.
15. Install brighter side lights.
16. Fix the rust hole in the tail gate that has my rear numberplate hanging off.
17. Get all black seat covers
18. Get the tracking, wheel alignment done and suspension work.
19. Install a starter button
20. Install a keyless entry system with no ignition barrel necessary.
21 get the speedometer configured properly after tyre and suspension work.
22. Put some fuel additives it to clean what I can't see
23. Fix blowing exhaust
24. Clean up engine bay.
25. Paint wheel arch areas including hubs if possible

I will probably do more than what is on the list so I'll update it if I do.
When all this is completed I should have a one of a kind show car. I'm gonna try and do everything myself with the help of friends and family, but I will need you help the most.

I need service manuals.
Fluid recommendations (it would be nice for them to come from one company)
Insurance advice
Sponsorships (I am on a tight budget of £2000)

I will try an post for each thing on the lost in the modification part of the forum if you have any advice, ideas, or criticism it will all be welcomed.
Thanks for reading
Zevon

4trak

I'd go steady on the mods if you want to get insurance! Do the front brake callipers first before the slider pins seize (common fault, as is the rust under the rear number plate). Bob F has CD manuals for a small fee, but not sure he'd approve of the youthful mods you want to make 'cos he's old like me!!
They're a fun, nippy car and cheap to run, so I hope you enjoy it. Good luck.

Weary

I did the pads about a moth

I did the pads about a moth or two ago and the driver side was completely seized.

I'm 21 and I get my inspiration from the K cars of Japan. I am also going for something totally unique. I don't thing think they'll be any one else on planet earth with a 'bagged' Daihatsu sirion let alone a 4trak

I've checked the insurance already and its about £180 a month. Considering I'm already paying £162 because of the black box ingenie require me to have and the fact I have a heavy right foot I don't Mind paying the extra £18 to have the car look totally awesome. Plus I only have to tell my insurance Tha the car is lowered and on alloys and has a sub in the back. I don't have to tell them about the stickers ect. But thanks for the advice Il pm Bobf and get the manuals.
