I have got a little daihatsu sirion plus on x reg plate just bought a few months ago.Its on auto gear box.
I need some insight on it-a few days ago i noticed that while i drive and stop on traffic then put the gear box on N for neutral the engine cuts out after a few minutes.RE starting it is ok and it seems to drive ok.
Then before engine warms up or before transmission fluid warms up the engine seems to want to cut out if i stop at traffic while the gearbox is on drive.
Please advice if this is a default setting or a fault and what fault is it

Could be a sensor fault due to a lack of servicing
Not a default setting. This doesn't happen on my 53 plate YRV turbo which is also an automatic. Unfortunately if these gearboxes are not serviced (every 6 years) with fluid and filter change then faults will develop on these auto boxes. Its one of Daihatsu's a chilies heals if not looked after I'm afraid. It could also be something to do with the actual gear box itself.
