I'm guessing t might be the engine management light... In which case it could be the first Lambda (oxygen) Sensor is on the way out. Apart from exhausts, this is the only thing I've ever had go wrong on several Charades and Cuores in the family. (when I say 'go wrong' - I should add that they do wear out over time. It seems to be the heater circuit that goes open circuit)

You need to connect a code reader to find out what the actual fault is. They are not expensive to buy.
