New sportrak

Forum:

Just about to buy a Sportrak, having owned many in the past I couldn't resist this bargain at £125. However the owner in trying to jump start it has connected the leads the wrong way round!

as this is like putting 24V into the electrical system i am aware this will have damaged the battery but unsure if this willl have effected anything else. Unfortunately I'm in the UK so someone else is picking the car up for me as its located in the channel islands.

Any hints as to which fuses will have blown etc as been a while since iv'e worked on one!

Progress ...

fuses checked and seem to be OK. the yellow feed from the positive terminal had burnt through so fingers crossed that replacing this section of wiring will solve the issue.

Not entirely sure if this is the extent of the damage as I'm communicating with someone in the channel islands who is looking at the car for me - but according to the wiring diagrams if feeds the ignition switch. alternator, starter etc so very surprised the wire burnt through meaning this section wasn't fitted with an in line fuse which would have blown first ?!!
