I Just wanted to say hi to all, I Live in Australia and just purchased a 1977 Daihatsu F20 Taft Hartop, I have been after one for many years but here down under there are few and far between, I was browsing the local classifies when I seen the add Daihatsu 4WD for Sale, upon opening the adds description page I could hardly believe my eyes, yep there she was a real barn find an 1977 F20 Scat, I rang the person and said I would take it sight unseen, it looked pretty straight in the pictures and the add said it runs well and only needs a fuel pump, the young bloke said he has had 400 odd enquirys and people were coming to look at it, he wanted $50 AU for it so I wasn't expecting too much, I told him I could pick it up rite away as he only lived 20 miles from me, he said a bloke offered hi 100 and he wanted to turn it into a rock crawler, I LOLs him I was retired and wanted to rebuild it to its former glory as I've done with numerous vehicles, he was happy to here this and agreed to sell it to me, i put my car trailer on and went to pick it up, upon arriving I could not believe my eyes, there she stood as proud as could be, I couldn't find 1 thing missing from it, it has a little reparable rust around the rain gutters but the rest of the Scat was very straight and original, it even has the original fender mirrors and radio, this was an unmolested F20
Well I had it on the trailer in a flash befor he changed his mind, so now I'm the proud owner of one of the rarest 4x4's in OZ and now I look forward to getting her back on the road with the help of you guys and girls, I'm sure I will have some questions to ask
