Sirion 2007 - Bad rattling from the boot lid

Forum:

Hi All, currently have a loud rattling coming from within the bootlid in my 2007 Daihatsu Sirion 1.5l Auto. Can anyone advise how to remove the interior boot lid trim? Is it a simple case of easing out the clips? I don't want to damage them so thought best to check first.

Thanks

Hi,I too had a rattle from my bootlid area on my sirion 1.5, was sure it came from inside the bootlid itself but found it was the the parcel shelf rattling, worth trying the car with the parcel shelf removed before stripping the bootlid, also worth trying without the jack and tools in the boot, and rear seat belts where they come out of the roof can make a clicking sound sometimes, let us know how you get on, my sirion is also an auto 2008, love it, sounds like a little rally car when you really open her up, be interested to know what you think to yours, the 1.5 auto is a rare in the uk, David

Hi Velocette

Hi Velocette

I decided to prise the boot cover off and take a look. One of the nuts holding the rear windscreen wiper had started to work its way loose and the wiper motor was causing the metal to flex.

Put in a couple of large washers and tightened it all up. Fixed the problem!

It's not my car, I was borrowing it whilst mine was in the garage. But its a great little run around. Easy to drive, very responsive and great on fuel.

BTW - I'm located in China, not UK.
