Daihatsu F50

Forum:

Anyone know of a good source of information in UK for this model? i would like some help lifting the ride height of the leaf springs, i cant find any lift info anywhere without changing out completely. cheers Jon

Easiest answer is to make

Easiest answer is to make longer hangers. But this changes the diff angle. You can put the axles under the springs, remembering to remount the shock absorbers to compensate. Personally I would lift the body 1st. Any lifting of the suspension puts extra strain on propshaft angles etc. and raises the vehicles centre of gravity. Body lifts give more wheelarch space for larger wheels, which gives better ground clearance, while leaving the centre of gravity lower than a suspension lift as the engine, gearbox and chassis are not lifted as high.

Any veiws expresed in this thread by me are purely from my own experience, and (sometimes) falible memory. Hope my comments help, but please don't take them as gospel.

As Nev, I have seen many

As Nev, I have seen many badly done and the main thing you need to do is add spacers between the axle input and prop flanges to lengthen them.
