sportrak noob

Forum:

hi,

Ive just bought an old '90 sportrak on the cheap. It a bit rusty and has sat for about a year, so coughs and splutters when it eventually starts. Im a bit taken with the car and fancy doing some work on it to get it into shape. Its got 65k on the clock and is a bit corroded underneath although theres a lot of surface rust there. I will do the standard, mot, oil, filter, plugs first. has anybody got any hints or tips on things to look for with this age and condition of sportrak. Im a bit concerned about the gearbox as Ive heard they can implode if not properly serviced. I dont have a service manual so any advice on offer would be appreciated. Like any parts that need replaced at this milage...I hear the timing belt need replaced about 60k miles...true?

Also, where can I get a set of bullbars for it, maybe second hand or cheap new?

Bull Bar

Try CWS breakers in Glastonbury, 01458 834930, I got a heater matrix from them last week, I know they have the remains of two sporty's and one of them had a bull bar attached.
