I have a 93 Daihatsu Sportrak 108k which has just been to the shop for a new Head gasket but now I have a 2" crack in the block on the air filter side which was letting water out. We did a flush with "Holts WondarWeld" which is supposed to permanently seals cracks in cylinder block, internal and external leaks in water jacket. It seem to do the trick but I am wondering how perminent this is or do I have to trash the block? This 4x4 is otherwise in good condition.

wouldnt think it will last very long think wonderweld is more aget you home type repair. i'd look for a secondhand block or even better a recon one

just to let you know my sporty had a hairline crack on air filter side right by the engine mount fixed it with radweld inside and chemical metal on outside ran for over a year without leaking

Tell me more about the Chemical metal? How do you apply it? etc My crack is in the same place, on the air filter side.
