Fourtrak Fuel Breathers

Forum:

Hi,

Can anyone describe for me the way that the fuel tank breather works in the fourtrak? It doesn't seem to be described in the service manual at all. Coming off the top of the tank is a red rubber pipe which go up behind the offside fold-down seat. There seems to be a one way valve in line and this then goes to a two-way splitter and two pipes disappear back to the tank.

Any idea what this setup does?

Thanks

Rob Hall

The pipe that breathes to atm

The pipe that breathes to atmosphere should come down from behind the side panel, through the rubber grommet in the inner rear mudguard, and to a white plastic connector which is supposed to clip into a hole in the side of the chassis. The pipe actually breathes to atmosphere inside the chassis rail.
