Sportrak front shocks

Forum:

I have an R reg sporty that has one of the front shockers showing oil on the lower part of it, it is bounsy and obviously kaput. I am not to sure about the other.

The car is under waranty and I intend to take it back to the garage for repare, should they change both or will they try to get away with changing one.? Are they sold in pares.?

Damper

They should be changed as 'pairs' so they age together and any loss of dampering will be equal. Deterioration of one damper becomes noticable when the vehicle's tyre opposite a damper looses grip on cornering at speed. It can be very dangerous especially if raining etc.
No doubt the garage will only change the leaking damper since they wont want the expense of two. Go with the expectation that they will be changing both dampers and firmly state your case for two!
