Forum:
Not many people know about it, but someone over on the MGRover forums has told me the Highways agency are in the middle of a very snazzy trial of providing realtime Traffic data, including congestion reporting.
The home page is here: http://www.highways.gov.uk/news/m25_rt/index.htm
TrafficMap which shows you England-wide comprehensive information about motorway incidents and what the motorway signs are saying:

Real Time Traffic which shows the current speed and flow information for selected areas. Currently covered are Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Kent and M25:

RAC had a good internet service
Havn't looked for a while, but the RAC had a very good service reporting traffic problems. I used to check it every day, just before leaving work on a contract in Basildon (pause to throw up and apologise to anyone who is unfortunate enough to live there).
BTW if you want to check out cheap petrol/diesel suppliers, try www.aapetrolbusters.com
For Gawd's sake, remember to check the box 'don't send me any advertising crap' or you will regret it !
