Rear Diff Leak

Forum:

Hi, I have a Fourtrak (F78) TDX which is leaking oil from the rear diff seal. I only have the manual for an early model. Can anyone advise if it is just of case of removing from the crankshaft (with four easy bolts!!) to change the seal. Can I get a copy of a manual for F78?
Many thanks.

Its a case of remove the rear

Its a case of remove the rear of the tailshaft, (4 bolts) then bend back the lock tab, undo the large nut, remove yoke, change seal, then replace everything.
However, there must be a reason its leaking. Is there any up and down movement in the diff yolk? If so, then at least adjustment is needed in the pinion bearing. Possibly replacement.
You could be lucky, and just have got something like grass caught in under the seal.

Cheers
David
