Forum:
The ignition switch on my Sportrak is sticking because it is worn and 98% of the time will not turn.
I need to fit a new ignition switch to my 1994 Sportrak 1600 Elxi.I have ordered the switch but it has not arrived yet.
I have got all the plastic's off the stearing column ready, but the two bolts holding the alloy switch mount in place, have got tamper proof round head bolts. The only Idea I have is to punch them round with a centre punch?
Maybe they are covers over the allen bolt head?
The switch unit has two alloy side covers that look like they are held on with 1mm roll pins, maybe you take the covers off and then withdraw the switch unit only.
Has any one done this job before and can point me the right way?

Ignition switch removal/replacement
David,
Thank you very much for the good advice. I would never have worked out the sequence for removing and replacing the ignition switch in a hundred years.
