personal experience would say splash out £200 and get a toad cat1 alarm/immobiliser fitted, insurers prefer someone else pro-fitting it!
plus i know i`m very impatient when it comes to stuff like that, and i know how wound up i would get with it, unless your comfortable with the idea i personally would let someone else worry! lol
