Would appreciate help from anyone. Have changed head gasket on Hijet N reg Import petrol engine. Had problems with timing but this was sorted. New problem has now arisen in that engine will start no problem but once it reaches about 1/4 on temp gauge it will cut out and is difficult to restart. If allow to cool down them will restart no problem ie had hoses pipe running in rad, started immediately. Any ideas gratefully received Emma
Hijet cutting out
For some reason I cant quote what you wrote but was wondering if you had sorted out that problem because I bought a 1.0 efi with the exact same problem. the engine cuts out after 5 minutes for no apparent reason. Its not overheating all the sensors seems to be working ok, The chap I bought it off had it sitting in his back garden for about a year, I said he didnt drive it because he bought a bigger van but I have my suspicion that it might be because of this fault why he stopped driving it, there was a few dryjoints in the ecu that I soldered but I think the fault is from one of the sensors but cant figure out which one and why it does it. I could change all the sensors but the cheapest one starts at £45 plus the queens bit so it would be cheaper to chane the engine or change the van
